Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging

Our high-resolution ultrasound scanning provides a detailed, dynamic view of soft tissue and joint structures.

Shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries

Tendon and ligament tears

Arthritis and joint inflammation

Bursitis and impingement syndromes

Sports and overuse injuries

Chronic Tendinopathies

Diagnostic ultrasound is safe, radiation-free, and enables immediate, precise diagnosis at the point of care. This tool provides a streamlined approach to understanding your condition, exploring the prognosis, and developing an individualised treatment plan that best suits your needs and goals.

Ultrasound-Guided Injections

We use live ultrasound guidance to deliver injections with pinpoint accuracy — ensuring the treatment reaches the exact area of inflammation or pain.

Common procedures include:

Corticosteroid injections – for rapid inflammation control

Local anaesthetic diagnostic blocks – to identify pain sources

Viscosupplementation – to restore joint lubrication and movement

Hydrodistension & hydrodissection – to release adhesions or frozen joints

Barbotage & fenestration tenotomy – to treat calcific or degenerative tendon disorders

All procedures are performed under real-time imaging for maximum precision and comfort.

Specialist Procedures

01

01

Barbotage

(Calcific Tendon Lavage)

A minimally invasive ultrasound-guided technique that removes calcium deposits in tendons — commonly used for calcific shoulder tendinopathy. The result is reduced pain, improved mobility, and faster recovery.

02

02

Hydrodissection

Used to separate nerves or tendons from scar tissue through a gentle fluid injection under ultrasound guidance. Effective for nerve entrapments (such as the median nerve in carpal tunnel syndrome) and post-surgical adhesions.

03

03

Hydrodistension (for Frozen Shoulder)

An evidence-based treatment for adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder). Under ultrasound guidance, sterile saline, local anaesthetic (lidocaine) and steroid (depomedrone) are injected into the joint capsule to stretch and release stiffness, often providing dramatic

improvement in movement and pain.

04

04

Fenestration Tenotomy

A regenerative approach for chronic tendinopathy, where a fine needle is used to stimulate natural tendon healing, through stimulating new blood flow and tendon remodelling. A valuable non-surgical alternative for persistent tendon pain if you have had limited progress

from conventional physiotherapy and tendon loading, and remain hesitant in surgical options.
